We respect your privacy and provide simple options to delete your JYLTOW account and associated data.

Important: Account deletion is permanent. Once deleted, you will lose access to your order history, active towing requests, invoices, and saved details.

Data retention & deletion details (Canada Compliance)

To balance your privacy rights under PIPEDA & Law 25 with our legal obligations under Canadian tax and liability regulations, here is exactly what is deleted and what must be kept:

🗑️ What is Deleted or Anonymized

  • Personal Profiles: Individual names, profile photos, personal phone numbers, and login emails.
  • Credentials & Security: Account passwords, active API tokens, and session keys.
  • Telemetry: Real-time and continuous GPS background tracking logs of individual drivers.
  • Saved Preferences: Notification settings, saved payment methods (credit cards), and default vehicle profiles.

📋 What is Retained (Legal & Audit Records)

  • Financial & Tax Records: Invoices, payment transaction logs, and GST/HST details (retained for 7 years in compliance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines).
  • Dispatch & Service History: Historical tow requests, dispatch contracts, service locations, and mechanic notes (retained for insurance liability and dispute resolution).
  • Audit Logs: System audit trials and corporate administrative actions (retained for security and fraud prevention).
CRA & Provincial Corporate Record Keeping:

In accordance with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines under the Income Tax Act, JYLTOW is legally required to retain books and records containing financial transactions for a minimum of six (6) tax years from the end of the tax year they relate to. For commercial and fleet accounts, this includes dispatch contracts and service records to satisfy audit, liability, and tax requirements. Any personal information linked to these records will be minimized or anonymized to the maximum extent permitted by law, adhering to PIPEDA and provincial privacy standards (including Quebec's Law 25 and provincial PIPA legislation).
